What's New for 2015

The 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport is an all-new model.

Introduction

Land Rover is relaunching its Discovery nameplate in the U.S. with the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport, which will seat up to seven passengers in a 5+2 configuration. The new Discovery Sport takes the basic formula from the Range Rover Evoque -- same engine and transmission, similar suspension design -- and stretches it into a midsize SUV package with room for seven.
Wraparound headlights, LED foglamps, a twin-bar grille and hexagonal mesh lower grille impart Land Rover's family look, while an optional "Black Pack" trim with 19- or 20-inch wheels and gloss black grille, vents and side mirrors can give the Discovery Sport a decidedly downtown look. A panoramic sunroof is also optional.
The Discovery Sport offers partial leather upholstery as standard equipment. Upper trim levels like the HSE and HSE Luxury can be trimmed with posh Windsor leather seating and twin-stitched leather door and dash surfaces. Second-row seats fold in a 60/40-split and sit 2 inches higher than the front seats for a better view. They also recline and slide rearward to yield nearly 40 inches of maximum second-row legroom.
Up front, an 8-inch touchscreen display controls information and entertainment functions using smartphone-style gestures. Apple iOS and Android smartphone apps can also be accessed from the touchscreen when connected via a USB cable. The Discovery Sport can also sync two phones simultaneously: one for calls and one for streaming audio. A 10-speaker audio system comes standard and an optional subwoofer is available.
